Physical Therapy for those with COVID-19

You survived COVID-19, perhaps even a prolonged time requiring intensive care, perhaps ventilation therapy.  Now you are struggling with the residual symptoms and loss of function, such as decreased strength, balance, endurance, flexibility, lung capacity, difficulty walking, depression, and the ability to return to common activities of living.  You may also be experiencing an increase in musculoskeletal aches and pain from inactivity and from frequent coughing.  You are not alone, these are common challenges faced by many who are recovering from the effects of COVID-19, even those who did not require hospitalization.  Anyone who experiences these symptoms would benefit from an individualized physical therapy program.  At LifeStrides Physical Therapy our licensed professionals develop individualized programs to address the unique needs of patients suffering the lingering effects of COVID-19.  Our professionals use their knowledge, experience, enthusiasm, and compassion to develop a progressive, monitored program tailored to the individual needs and capabilities of each patient.

Sessions typically last from 30-60 minutes depending on patient tolerance with periodic rest breaks as needed early in the program.  The typical program involves 2-3 visits per week to gain a positive training effect.  Our program begins with a thorough physical therapy evaluation and communication with your physician regarding your initial status and continues with regular assessments of progress provided to your physician as well.

Many of us have had experience with COVID-19’s effects on us personally, our family, and or neighbors and understand the challenges that linger, so we are motivated to help those in their current struggle with weakness, instability, difficulty walking, limited endurance, breathing difficulty, pain, depression and ongoing fatigue.  We are committed to help those struggling to regain their functional mobility, independence, and joy in taking positive “Strides” in life.

Moving forward, moving better with LifeStrides
